This is an honest review of the Haema Diary App I found on Google Play.

Last December 2022, I was looking for a simple and uncomplicated application to record my daily thoughts. I am an avid user of Notion and Google Keep, but their functionality is a bit complicated for what I want. I am trying my best to be paper-free, and notebooks and pens are not always accessible (i.e., thinking while in the bathroom, lol). I have tried the Presently Gratitude app before and I found myself having difficulties logging my thoughts because I was forced to be thankful… what if I’m not? So it did not work for me.

Then browsing through, I found Haema Diary App. It is simple and cute and only takes up a small space in my phone storage. I downloaded it, and it was just what I needed! It has three (3) functions: you can log your daily thoughts or whatever; you can log book reviews; and movies to watch. At least for me, I am just using the daily log, and I am fine with it. I can also upload a photo or photos for the day. I connected it with my Google Drive account, so everything is stored and can be restored if needed.

It also has an available widget for android phones that you can put on your homepage. You can see the overview of your month and adjust the aesthetic to blend in with your phone wallpaper.

It has a free trial for 30 days. I paid Php 80.00 to have access to the app forever! That’s so inexpensive for the function and aesthetic of the app, actually. I think I am keeping this for a long time. You can also set reminders so it will notify you when it is time to write! A perfect feature to help you build a habit of writing.

Thoughts

For me, it served its purpose, and I don’t have any difficulty using it so far. It became a tool that helps me write and log my daily activities. It is simple and I am not distracted by the art or aesthetics of the app. It’s so cute!
